Done
Deal
I'm
definitely going to New Paltz! I visited again with my mom,
and she liked it. Plus, we took a tour, and everyone I talked
to loves it there. So I sent in my deposit. This is where
I want to go!
Sharing
Spaces
I sent in my freshman dorm housing form, which asked if I
smoke (I don't), and if I want a suite (three rooms and a
bathroom all together) or a corridor (all rooms facing out
to the hallway). I chose a corridor, because I think I'll
meet more people that way. I'll have one or two roommates,
because New Paltz triples some rooms for the first semester,
but they promise to "un-triple" you by second semester.
I'm
really excited, because this is a new experience and an opportunity
to become really close with someone by living with them. I
can basically get along with anyone; as long as we can respect
each other and have certain guidelines, it'll be cool.
Movin'
and Shakin'
At New Paltz, you can't have a car until sophomore year. I
bought a '92 Toyota Corolla last August for $1,000, but I
wouldn't trust it on a long trip, anyway. It's old, used,
and it has almost 100,000 miles on it. I may just sell it
or get rid of it.

Final
Fling
We
have five games left in the soccer season, and if we win them
all, we'll go to the playoffs. We have 14 games overall --
we've won two and lost seven so far -- and we have to win
at least 50 percent of the games to advance. I really would
like to make it, because the teams we play regularly are in
the top five in the city, so the competition won't be as challenging
in the playoffs.
I'm
head captain this year, which I love, because it allows me
to take a leadership role naturally. Even if I weren't captain,
I think I would still act like it! I'm definitely going to
try out for the team at New Paltz.
Peruvian
Adventure
I just had a training weekend for my trip to Peru this summer.
We learned more about the culture, and I'm really excited!
For a couple of hours every day in Peru, we'll go to the marketplace
and do street evangelism. My friend Mark and I will also be
teaching an intermediate ESL class. We got a humongous book,
and before we go, we have to plan 10 lessons for students
anywhere from my age to 60.
Too
Little Time...
My sister's college graduation is next weekend, but my last
soccer games are that Friday and Saturday. I also have my
AP Physics final on Friday, and the AP the following Monday,
which I have to be home for. Plus, Mother's Day is that Sunday,
so my mom wants me to be with her at the graduation that day.
I don't know what I'm going to do! (Advice, anyone?!)
P.S. -- I still have no dress for the prom! =}
